How to calculate a test score

Divide the number of correct answers by the total number of questions and multiply by 100. 17 correct out of 20 is 17 ÷ 20 × 100 = 85%, a B.

If you know how many were wrong instead, switch the box to "wrong": 3 wrong out of 20 means 17 right.

For teachers

Enter the total number of questions to get a complete grading chart — every possible score with its percentage and letter grade — ready to keep beside you while marking. It works for point totals too: a 60-point test is just 60 "questions".
